Press release 9.10.2024
New factory brings growth and innovation
Bevenic Oy, a manufacturer of demanding electronics solutions, is building a new and modern electronics factory in Pieni-Neulamäki, Kuopio. The factory will bring significant growth and new jobs to the area, while strengthening the company’s commitment to the local community and sustainable development. The new building is expected to be ready May 2025.
Significant Investment
Bevenic Oy currently operates in five locations in Finland and has a turnover of 36M€ (2023). The group is based in Kuopio. In early 2024, the company merged the four subsidiaries owned by the Bevenic Group, of which Bevenic Elektropoint Oy, operating in Kuopio and Lahti, was established in 1997. Bevenic Oy employs around 160 people nationwide, of which 15 are currently employed in Kuopio. The current factory in Kelloniemi has been expanded earlier in 2020 by doubling the production space, but its facilities and capacity no longer serve the current market situation or the company’s growth objectives.
Construction of the factory began in September 2024 and it is expected to be ready by May 2025. The factory will be especially suited to the manufacture of demanding electronics, without forgetting the comfort of the office space. The project will use state-of-the-art technology in areas such as air conditioning and lighting to create a comfortable working environment, energy efficiency and sustainable operations. The property is owned by RATI-kiinteistöt, a company based in Jyväskylä.
More jobs and economic growth
The construction and expansion of the plant will create new jobs in the area, while strengthening the local economy and providing new opportunities for residents. “We are excited about the opportunity to expand our operations in Kuopio and support the local community through new jobs and economic growth – not many electronics factories have been built in Finland in the last decade,” says Jukka Rautiainen, CEO of Bevenic Oy.
Focus on innovation and customers, without forgetting sustainability
The new factory will use the latest technology and innovative solutions in the industry, with a particular focus on the production of industrial electronics. “We have invested heavily in our ability to manufacture sophisticated electronics, especially for the medical, healthcare, security and defense customer segments” says Sami Norppa, Kuopio’s PlantManager and continues “The environment and sustainability are important to us. We are proud to be able to offer our customers products that are contract manufactured in Finland, this guarantees the primary quality and traceability of our products.”
The construction project naturally takes into account sustainability and environmental issues “At Bevenic, we are committed to a sustainable development programme and, for example, the efficient recovery of heat from the machines in the new factory will improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact”, Sami Norppa sums up and continues “In addition to sustainability, the new factory has been designed with our customers’ wishes in mind and we are particularly pleased to be able to meet the growing demand and offer higher quality products and more comprehensive and flexible services to our existing and new customers”.
Future outlook
Bevenic Oy’s new factory in Kuopio is a significant step towards the company’s strategic goals and growth plans. The plant will enable the company to better meet the growing demand of its customers, especially for demanding and high-quality electronics solutions, and to further expand its product and solution offering. “This investment will strengthen our position in the market and support our long-term growth,” says Jukka Rautiainen.
